if I had a few billions

in that case, I will figure out a way to prolong human life to about 300 years, and that will give me time to figure out how to keep it going forever…

this problem is too abstract and far-fetched, that only private money can be used for this purpose. on the other hand, its importance is unparalleled as it speaks directly to the fundamental question we ask us as human. more practically, a solution to this problem will lend itself to address many urgent social issues.

my sense is that all the money we spent on medical and biological research have been treating the symptoms of human body, instead of the root. frankly, I don’t see it is that hard to replace everything below our head. the interface between head and the rest of the body is clearly defined, and require much less work than trying to figure out how brain works. if I understand correctly, very few people die from disease originated from body parts above the neck. of course, not everybody will want to take an man-made body, but it will be nice to have this option.
