I truely believe the answer is yes. It certainly does not make any sense to me that a person is old enough to select who should be the president, and yet is not allowed to drink.
One possible solution is to regulate the AMOUNT of the alcohol a person can drink before 21, on a sliding scale. This should be coupled with strong enforcement. For example, anyone who is caught with higher blood alcohol level will lose the right to drink for a number of years. This could be represented by special marks on driver’s license, and is thus easy for restaurants etc to check. Make it more serious, anyone who serves such person will also be deprived the right to drink.
Creative solutions are needed to solve these types of problems.
